Pakistan Make A Grand Comeback To Secure Third Place In Asian Champions Trophy 2024

In a thrilling encounter at the 2024 Asian Champions Trophy, Pakistan displayed tremendous resilience and determination to secure a remarkable 4-3 victory over Korea in the 3rd place match on Sunday, March 12th, 2024.

After trailing 2-0 in the first half, Pakistan mounted an impressive comeback with goals from Arsalan Qadir, Abdul Shahid, and two from Shan Irshad to secure the bronze medal.

A Match Of Two Halves

The match started with Korea dominating the proceedings and taking an early lead through Jang Jong-hyun's field goal in the 8th minute. Korea doubled their advantage in the 20th minute when Lee Nam-yong converted a penalty corner.

Pakistan, however, came out with renewed vigor in the second half. Arsalan Qadir pulled one back for Pakistan in the 38th minute, followed by Abdul Shahid's equalizer in the 42nd minute. Shan Irshad then put Pakistan in the lead with a field goal in the 49th minute, and sealed the victory with another goal in the 58th minute.
